We go to great lengths thoroughly to understand our clients and their family’s individual needs

History

Edward Whitley and Louise Rettie set up Whitley Asset Management in 2002 in order to provide asset management services to a small number of individuals. These are clients with substantial assets who are seeking a specialist financial service, dedication and value for money in the traditional investment world. In order to avoid the conflict of interest of managing family assets alongside client assets, WAM only manages third party client assets.

Since inception assets under management and the number of clients have grown, during which time WAM has retained its focus on providing an excellent standard of service to our clients. WAM goes to great lengths thoroughly to understand our clients and manages their assets according to their and their family’s individual needs.

The well-established team has worked together for many years growing organically and being strengthened by experience. Efficient communication and a collegiate approach is at the heart of the company, with shared knowledge of all client matters and a common aim to provide excellent service and investment performance.

Today, WAM looks after a variety of clients. Some have sold some or all of their shareholdings in a family-led business, others have inherited capital. Whatever their background, WAM takes responsibility for organising and implementing an investment strategy which treats their capital as irreplaceable and focuses upon the long-term benefit of capital for future generations.
